Plan a Visit
Meeting someone for the first time can be intimidating and going to a new church for the first time can make even the bravest person nervous. We want to help make your first experience at Mt. Calvary a great one.
Service Time: Sunday, 9:30 am
Address: 2605 N Fort Valley Rd.
Finding your Way
When you pull into our parking lot, the worship space is the closest building to the street. The main doors are tall and made of glass - you won’t miss them.
What to Expect
In total, a Mt. Calvary service is about 60 minutes in length. Our service begins with Pastor Korey welcoming everyone and giving some explanation about how parts of the gathering will work.
Generally, the opening part of our worship is songs and speaking interspersed with one another. The words are printed out in a booklet and also projected on screens so you can participate and follow along however it works best for you. For longer songs we usually use our hymn books.
For music, we typically use a piano along with a few other instruments and some light rhythm.
For the message, Pastor Korey takes a section of the Bible and explains what it means and then teaches how that same section speaks to us today. It is an encouraging and hope-filled message about Jesus.
What about My kids?
We believe that kids and parents should enjoy coming to church - while learning from the Bible. We offer a Sunday School program for kids (Prek-5th grade) that runs basically during the sermon. This program is offered every Sunday except most holiday weekends. When you come, you can sign your children in for Sunday School at a table just inside the front doors.
Here’s how it works out. Children are invited to the front of church for a special children’s lesson with Pastor Korey. After the lesson, the children meet their Sunday School teachers and go to our Kindergarten classroom for Sunday School. If you’d like to go with the group to see how it all goes, please feel free to do so.
We also know that kids and parents care about safety. That’s why each Sunday School group has at least two adults with the group of children. It helps us to ensure that every child is safe and gets the attention they need.
