Begindergarten and Kindergarten

What is Begindergarten?

A Begindergarten is a Kindergarten-like program for children who need a little more than preschool, but maybe aren’t quite ready for regular Kindergarten.

Children grow and mature at different rates. We do not expect every child to walk or talk at exactly the same age as another child, so at the same time, we should not expect every child to be ready for school at the same age.

If your child is not fully ready to start kindergarten, or does not need another year of preschool, Begindergarten can help him or her to avoid failure and frustration by waiting an extra year. It is also a great transition program for kids who are a few months too young to enter Kindergarten.

Children who are 5 years old by December 31 are welcome in Begindergarten.

Begindergarten runs Monday-Friday from 8:30 - 11:30 am.

Mt. Calvary Kindergarten

Our Kindergarten teaches to the Arizona state standards for the grade level of Kindergarten. Kindergarten students learn side-by-side with Begindergarten students, and then have two extra afternoons per week of focused instruction.

Kindergarten runs Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:30 - 11:30 am, and Tuesday/Thursday from 8:30 - 3:00 pm

Benefits of Mt. Calvary Beginder/Kindergarten include:

1. Small class sizes and therefore a low student to teacher ratio.

2. Students receive individual and personal attention from their teacher.

3. A family-like atmosphere where teacher, parents, and students all care for one another.
